Good morning everyone, my first post on this forum but not an unfamiliar territory as I recognise a couple of regulars already. Thanks for cracking the knot Jonathan Recently bought this HJ 47 in remarkably good condition. I will have to do a few things to it but a complete refurb won't be necessary yet. The immediate DIY list is engine and diff oil leaks and minor little things that will irritate me. Can anyone help me or suggets where I can buy bonnet catches - Toyota = R1032

Was on my way to have my Birfield seals replaced JT and just want to make 100% sure hence the manual . Rear diff was also making a grrr sound for a while and it turned out that the left side needle bearings are kaput, have to replace the shaft. Anyone with ideas where to source this ? Its a full floater from my understanding. BTW nice boney and outfit JT

Fine, as long as it was not at "Mazal Motors" I am not so sure it will be a full-floater, infact looking at your pic above it's not, it's a semi. Any other thoughts from the rest of you, on where Pieter might find a shaft... Overhauling my rear diff (HJ47) and the left driveshaft needle bearings collapsed damaging the shaft.Length 835mm from end to outer edge of flange. Must be in good condition. Any help in sourcing this part will be appreciated. Thanks gents

JT help me out here please. The way I understand a full floater is one were the shaft carries no load only transfers torque and the axle houses the shaft and carries the load. So the bearings are on the axle and not the shaft and the shaft simply connects the diff to the wheel via a flange ?
