The lastest update, The 2F engine block is ready to go to the engineers, to be bored to 1.00mm oversize. The crankshaft is 99% perfect. I have bought new 1.00mm Pistons and rings - Genuine Toyota parts only.  ;D

and new cam bearings

Regarding the head,

All new inlet valves (3 x cotter grooves) and new exhaust valves (1 cotter groove) apparently this is an upgrade in design. So I had to get new 1 groove and 3 groove cotters -

I have ordered new Rotating Valve retainers for the exhaust valves, and all new valve springs. So the head will be like brand new when machined. I'm dont think I'll be doing any special stage 1 or 2 conversions by grinding the ports. But the motor will be dynamically balanced.

Looking very  8).with all those new bits .
See the top of yr Block been Machined .Be interested to see what yr piston heights are
wether they are  flush with Top of block or they have a bit of protusion and how much .
And yr head also skimmed will help to raise the comp ratio from the original of just under
8 to 1 .This makes a huge diff on efficiency .will give that 2F a few more ponies . ;D

Rob, it's a very light skim on the block, but I will have a look at the protrusion and let you know.

I saw on LCCSA a 40 is going in for a VVVVV8 transplant. Picture shows a 2F filter setup. Ask him.
