Cos I go places where there is dust  :P

In addition the Teflon slides are much stronger, quieter,  take up less available space i.e. the drawers can be a bit wider and as you know in a 40 ser space is a premium, plus they are cheaper to start with (or even to replace) and are basically maintenance free ...

How deep (front to back) are your drawers? I am just worried that holding a 800mm loaded drawer with one hand while trying to get something out the back with the other hand might be problematic.

Sorry Pierre, only saw this now. I cannot remember offhand and Olive is not with me as I am still putting the roof back after the new lining was done. What I can tell you is that you do not need to support the drawer when it is out, provided that you do not slide it past the "point of no return' which is short enough, that you will practically never ever NEED to slide it out that far.

When my son and go on trips with Olive, we always sleep in our swags but for our upcoming trip to Mabua, his mother decided that our usual arrangements would be completely inadequate. I have learnt when to pick my battles and on this occasion I decided to just get on with finding a solid way to fit our Impi from the trailer onto Olive. Enter Heinrich Siepker at Hannibal: I did not want a complete rack and after patiently listening to what I wanted, we came up with this.

The slats to which the 6 feet are connected run all along the full length of the gutter so the load is nicely distributed along the whole gutter. Superb service from Hannibal and I am stoked with the result.   8)

I like the OEM steering wheel but always felt it lacked something so ...

and the stitched leather made a huge difference to the overall feel. I should have done it along time ago.

I always new that one day I would part with Olive but I did not know when. Well after 9 years exactly, it is with a touch sadness that I announce that Olive was collected yesterday by her new proud farther. This vehicle was way more than just a vehicle and literally changed the lives of my family and I on so many levels. Although sad, we have no regrets as we know that the new owner is probably an even bigger cruiserfreak than myself, so we have peace in our hearts that she will be treasured like before.

Go well dear Olive, we will be watching you from the side lines and continue to treasure our fond memories of you....
