In either side of the rear axle (full floating) are these oil deflectors, guessing they are designed to stop the oil running away from the centre portion while the axle is articulated.


The one was badly damaged, and attempts at repair were not to my satisfaction so I managed to order a replacement from Toyoda P#4210860030


There all better


I thought while I had the one side out, I may as well have a look at the other, just to check...


:o and I am glad I did, this is right where the axle breather enters the diff housing, and as you can see the dirt and mud gets in here and just sits.
